Marc Klok Foundation Builds Dreams in Lombok

Lombok, Indonesia – The Marc Klok Foundation, in partnership with Soufyan Daafi and Happy Hearts Indonesia, has successfully completed the construction of the Nurussalamah Orphanage and highs school in Mandalika Village, Lombok. This marks the second school built by the foundation, demonstrating the commitment to supporting education and sustainability

The Nurussalamah Orphanage and high school, established in 2013, provide a safe haven for orphaned, poor, and neglected children. However, the school was damaged by the devastating Lombok earthquake of 2018.

Marc Klok, founder of the Marc Klok Foundation, explained the motivation behind the project. "I was deeply moved by the impact of the earthquake on educational facilities. This project aims to provide a conducive and safe environment for the children and students of Nurussalamah," he said.

The construction included major repairs and renovations to the orphanage and school, featuring a unique and innovative approach: the use of recycled plastic waste for the school's walls. This sustainable material not only contributes to environmental preservation but also provides a durable and earthquake-resistant structure.

In addition to the innovative construction technique, the project included new buildings, classrooms, and improved sanitation. The foundation also provided books and reading materials to enhance the learning experience of the students. "This renovation is more than just bricks and mortar; it's about building dreams, hopes, and a brighter future for these children," Marc added.

Soufyan Daafi, a partner in the project, expressed his satisfaction. "Seeing the smiles on the children's faces and knowing we've made a positive impact is incredibly rewarding."

The Marc Klok Foundation hopes this project will inspire others to contribute to similar initiatives, combining education with sustainable practices to create a brighter future for Indonesian children.
