The PSSI has just announced that Shin Tae-Yong will no longer serve as the head coach of the Indonesian National Team. This news has shocked fans of the Indonesian National Team, with many still in disbelief. The dismissal of Shin Tae-Yong is considered a rushed decision, especially since the team is currently competing in the third round of their World Cup Qualifier campaign.
Amid the widespread media coverage and fan reactions, Marc Klok shared his thoughts on the situation.
“As an athlete, there are moments that always leave a lasting impression. For me, one of those was the first time I was called up to represent the Indonesian National Team. That moment brought an overwhelming sense of pride,” said Marc.
“Coach Shin Tae-yong entrusted me with the opportunity, and I learned so much under his guidance, both in the SEA Games and the Asian Cup,” he added.
Marc is one of the players who played a significant role in the renaissance of Indonesian football. He played under Shin Tae-Yong in the SEA Games, the Asian Cup, and even during the first and second rounds of the World Cup Qualifiers.
"Coach Shin has brought a lot of positive changes to the National Team, from raising the level of competition to building a champion mentality. I feel grateful to have been part of this journey. However, as in life, football is about continuously moving forward." Marc continued his thoughts.
He asked Indonesian fans to keep supporting the National Team because he believes that Garuda will keep flying high.
"Believe that Garuda will continue to soar high. We have traveled a long road, and every step we take is aimed at bringing Indonesia to the global stage. Let’s continue to support, cheer, and be a part of the beautiful story of Indonesian football," he said.
Looking to the future, his wish is for the new generation of Indonesian players to push beyond their limits, striving for excellence and achieving greatness. He dreams of a day when the world witnesses Garuda making history on the international stage.
For him, the Garuda will always hold a special place in his heart—now and forever.
