In 2016, Ruben made the switch to Slovan Bratislava before ending up in Zwolle two years later. There he was rented out to De Graafschap. In 2019, the right-back faced another foreign adventure. This time he went to AS Trencin. Since last summer, he has been transfer-free.
During his time at Ajax, Ruben was regularly called up for the youth teams of the Netherlands. For example, he played 11 matches with the Netherlands Under 17 with whom he played a youth European Championship and youth World Cup.
Ruben Ligeon: "I am happy to be back at NAC after my first spell. The feeling I had in the first period at this club has always stuck. When NAC called, the decision was quickly made."
Eric Hellemons: "We are very happy that we were able to secure a right-back so quickly. Ruben is an experienced back with a lot of speed, drive forward and the drive to keep improving himself. In addition, he knows the club through his previous time at NAC and therefore knows what is required."
