The esports team of PEC Zwolle, consisting of Giovanni Bakhuijsen and Tom Dijkhuizen, experienced a season full of highs and lows in the KPN eDivisie. Despite facing some setbacks, they managed to make a huge comaback to earn their spot in the eDivisie finals.

One of the most memorable moments of the season occurred during the quarterfinals against AZ. Giovanni Bakhuijsen, known as Giobundyy, initially found himself trailing 2-0. With some tactical adjustments, Gio turned the match around and ultimately won 3-2, showcasing his mental strength.

In the semifinals against PSV, the team faced a tough challenge. Tom Dijkhuizen lost the first match 4-1, putting pressure on Gio to improve the overall score with a huge mountain to climb against reigning world champion Manuel Bachoore. Despite starting his individual match with a 1-0 deficit, Gio fought back and managed to reverse the overall score to 5-4. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to advance to the final, but it demonstrated the team's resilience.

Nevertheless, the season ended on a high note with Tom Dijkhuizen receiving the Goal of the Season award, a well-deserved recognition of his growth over the season.
